By the way, I saw DisneyNature’s Earth last Wednesday in celebration of Earth Day! It was great! But there was a lot of sadness behind it too. That’s just how the world works, I guess. They tried to make it happy again but the sadness kind of just resonated within me. I really wish animals would continue to flourish rather than dying out as the world changes. Sighs. There was sort of an animal show before the movie where they brought out four very cool animals and talked about them. I was a little bummed that they didn’t walk down the aisles with the animals, but that is sort of dangerous and I’m sure the animals wouldn’t like it all too much. I saw an alligator, a lynx, a fox, and a porcupine., all very awesome and cute. I loved the Arctic Fox! Took pictures too. Will post soon. I was lucky to get tickets for it because it was nearly sold out. In case you hadn’t heard, for every ticket sold in the first week of its opening, Disney is going to plant a tree in the Brazilian rainforest. Yay! Also, Blankey and I got popcorn in these reusable buckets. On top of it was this sticker that told you all the things you could use your bucket for. Per their request, I am going to use it as a sewing kit. But occasionally, I will be using it as a drum as well. I know they’re trying to be “green” and all, but they could have at least some post-consumer plastic in their buckets. So much for saving the world, Disney. I guess in the end, it really is about money and budgets. Bleh.
Hope everyone had a funzo Earth Day, though this is a week late. I biked to work because it was a really nice day. It amazed me how fast I got there…a little more than 10 minutes! It takes me almost three times that amount of time to get there sometimes by bus! See what I’m saying? I had no intention of biking back, since it was uphill and my legs are unaccustomed to much labor, but I decided to just do it and be healthy because I need to lose some boyfriend chubs to get my mom off my back. Ever notice how nothing seems to please moms? If you get skinny, they worry that you’re not eating, but the moment you gain a little weight, they tell you to eat less and to PLEASE take a stroll after dinner and to eat more fruit. Yargh.
Anywho, I feel I have been a horrible environmentalist. I really need to start getting more active about it again. We should love the earth every day!
ANNNNDD reminder to all UCLA students, go get your grad tickets on MyUCLA now now now! I just ordered mine and it’s such bull that they make you pay for extra ones, but whatevs, I guess. This is probably my last graduation (not planning on doing anymore schooling!!) so gotta celebrate!
